Quite a party

Quite a party

One of our little girls came home today with an invitation to a sleepover birthday party. The invitation was handmade by a second grader and featured colored pictures and great details about the party.  We have had discussions about what to do in regards to “sleepovers” as our children grow up.  We have decided that as a rule our children don’t spend the night at friends houses.  The kids know this and seem to understand… but when we got this invitation and saw the list of items that guests should bring we couldn’t help but wonder what is happening in second grade these days.

I am pretty sure the second graders aren’t bringing beer to the party.  The best we can figure is that the little girl who made the invitation didn’t know how to spell “bear”.  Kate won’t be spending the night, but she will go to the party for a little while… I think we will send her with some cigars and pretzels to go along with the beer.
